Cake anyone?

I have been taking a Cake Decorating class at Hobby Lobby this month. My friend Jessica talked me into it and I am glad that she did. I am not all that creative when it comes to decorating cakes and there is so much that I never knew about baking and decorating cakes. It has been a lot of fun and David I am sure is getting tired of all the sweet stuff around the house, but I am practicing at perfecting my cake decorating skills. :)

Ingredients for making Buttercream Icing & the tools for decorating the cake
Some icing - the consistency of the icing is really important and mine turned out perfect on the first try! Yep - I was pretty proud of that.

My first mistake was making cupcakes. Not sure what I was thinking when I made them. Possibly that it would be more things to practice my decorating skills on...... as you can see out of 24 cupcakes....only 6 of them were decorated and they look pretty sad. This was some parchment paper that I had fun doodling on with the icing. I was working on my writing skills - sort of. Then I decided that I would try to make Chocolate Buttercream Icing - it looks like chocolate icing - the consistency and taste were not good. But I decorated it anyway. Maybe over the next few months I will have at least one cool looking cake. :)
